If, by definition, our finite minds can never comprehend the infinite mind of God, is not then the only true blasphemy to accuse one of it?

  1. We will never understand everything, the accusation of blasphemy is outdated, used to distract people who question the authority of religions/politics/society.

  2. Blasphemy is literally a hurtful or profane utterance.  A slander levelled against the Divine.

It is necessary to understand the Divine to slander it?  On the contrary... there are some who would argue that ONLY those who don't understand the Divine would possibly do so.

It would be difficult, then, to level a charge of blasphemy in such a way that it itself would be considered blasphemy.  It could easily be just as mistaken or wrong as blasphemy, perhaps, but to BE blasphemy it would have to denigrate the Divine in some way.

  3. We live in an era where we must dominate. We must know

everything. We feel entitled and superior in ourselves. We don't

actually need a God in our lives until there's something like a

Hurricane Katrina or something drastic of that nature. Then it's all about God for possibly a full week. However; it doesn't take long

before we're right back up to our usual selves..business as usual.

Blasphemy is when someone swears (curse, cuss, use profanity

and utter obscenities) as this goes against God.

When you lie about God or lie about anything considered sacred

    and holy.

When you claim the attributes or rights which belong only to God.

When you use behavior and language which disrespects God

    and anything sacred.

The behavior or act of depriving something of its sacred character.

This would be Madonna getting up on a cross while performing

illicit acts and partaking in lewd conducts. It's also Madonna

Taking the name of the Virgin Mary and choosing to behave herself

in a manner not befitting of such a title/name.

To not believe in God is not blasphemy; to say that God does not exist is. Each time an Atheist denounces the existence of God and

persecute Theists for their beliefs; they're committing blasphemy.

To hate is not blasphemy; to tell God you hate him is.

The difference? One is done with respect and the other is done without.

Hey, that's my time..I'm out of here.

    Peace/Joy

  4. Blasphemy is a victimless crime.
