Philosophical question of the end of the world. What do you believe?

The year 2012 approaches and people are beginning to hear similar things. the world will end soon. Why? because that is when the Mayan calendar ends. now honestly, i think it's c**p. this a culture that had long since died out before western civilization discovered it. im willing to bet that it stopped then because the people had moved on or thought it pointless to continue onwards. the only time i will believe the world will end is when i see 4 horsemen in the sky. What do you think?

The day I see four horsemen in the sky will be the day that I choose to take good quality LSD . I have smoked good quality Cannabis many years ago but unfortunately was not enough to see the horsemen, but I surely saw the cars talking funny and people moving in slow motion . I also heard the birds barking and the dogs singing .

Now, to answer your question, I will be anxiously waiting for 2012 and see the deception stamped on the faces of doomsters and gloomers .

The year 2012 does hold some significance.

1. Mayan Calendar ends in 2012

2. Earth Magnetic Poles are to switch

3. Earth is to line up with a Blackhole

4. Global Warming causing more severe storms (all types) more often

5. Economies are dropping and prices are rising

I dont know if 2012 is the end, but I wouldnt be suprised.

we had clocks and computers that stopped at 1999, the world didnt end then. the mayans just had no use for a calander that went past that point, apperently they should have made it alot shorter.

Hmm... the i agree with you the 2012 thing is a peace of c**p.

I think the world is going to end ONLY if the sun stops to develope heat, or the world would be overpoluted.

but i think the world is not going to end for as long as i am still alive. so we should be living for about 200 more years.

and no i am not saying i am going to be 215, just a rough guess

It's not a literal end of the war, it's an end of some parts of civilization. In other words, people will get meaner, harder, technology will take over, the skies will be more polluted... that kind of thing.

Think of Rome before it fell... It didn't destroy the planet, but it did destroy that way of life.

Remember when the world was suppose to end in 2000 and many people stock up on supplies because everyone was sacred that all computers in the world crash! it c**p, I mean if the Mayan knew when end of the world was coming, wouldn't they have known  when their civilization was going to end too? good question!

People have been claiming the end of the world since the beginning of time, I don't worry about it, if your aware of the 4 horseman your aware of what you need to do to make sure you have no worries about the end of the world. Get right, live right, and accept the inevitable.
