Philosophy is the study of human mind and man kind but...??

Question

Philosophy is the study of human mind and man kind but when we humans can't only understand other person's mind and feelings....then what is the meaning of studying philosophy?

Just thought to ask this question.....decent answers please!

We can't understand other people because we can't understand ourselves.  Humans do not have unique minds and feelings.  If we study one, our own, then we will be studying everybody. And sometimes we observe something in another that helps us to better understand ourselves.

Philosophy is very language intensive, meaning if you can't even command basic grammar.... you're going to have a hard time asking questions and getting answers.

Philosophy is not the study of the human mind - that is psychology. Philosophy is the study of human wisdom.

it needs a vast mind and knowledge 4 u 2 read others mind....jus dont think u cannot do it....it needs concentration...1st of all u should strengthen ur mind....some say its very difficult 2 read women's mind than man's...tats true bcoz women may b weak physically but they r mentally strong.....vice versa in man's.....so 1 cannot blindly say tat 1 cant understand other person's mind....if u want 2 learn philosophy then u must involve in it spiritually......

We can't understand everyone's mind individually, but we can create broad categories in which most people fit. There are patterns. These patterns are not only applicable for today but have been in the past. It's not black and white or cause and effect, just a way of trying to understand and in a lot of cases it works. As you study, you will come across things which you believe are not true and others which you believe are. At least, it is a way to expand your mind and understand others, even if you cannot understand all.

You have found the limitation of philosophy, which doesn't consider that all life experiences life subjectively.  To say there is an objective reality is a subjective statement.  On one level philosophy is studied as a deep intellectual existential understanding of life.  On another level it is seen as intellectual vanity, as Socrates came to realize, admitting that he only knew that he knew nothing.
