Phisical and psycological effects of having mold in basement

Question

I have had mold in my basement. It is very black in color and mushrooms are growing in places. I heard that here can be Phisical and psyological side effects of having this? Is it really hurting me and my son? P.S. I have someone fixing the problem, but I am still woried.

Hello,

Toxic mold can kill you. Or cause brain damage or severe toxicity in your body which causes a host of other problems including severe neurological damage and central nervous system damage and respiratory damage/complications. If the mold in your home is toxic you and your son need to leave immediately(take nothing with you except clothes) and do not return until its totally re mediated. 2 years ago i grew rather unwell, low moods, bad skin(breakouts),developed asthma at 23yrsold  & had felt though i constantly had the flu, when my doctor checked me out i had dangerous levels of mould poisoning in my system so they sent health and safety around that day to check out my rental home (they have this lil dampness reader thingie that shows levels of dampness/mould concerns) and within half an hour my home was deemed uninhabitable! had to leave my home and all in it until further notice. 2weeks later they had ripped up my bathroom floor and found a leak had caused black mould throughout large part of house and we couldn't even see it! i had to shift and the poor owners had to have home demolished and rebuilt (very pricey) i now 2years later have severe asthma and just have never felt back to my good old self, have had major stomach problems since that they just cant put there finger on what's wrong or caused it but suspicious of the contribution of this mould poising i suffered, Please go see a doctor for bloods and full check this could of taken my life if i stayed in my home any longer than i did, i was a healthy gal with no previous conditions until then. good luck :)
