  1. its like saliva.. its already inside your body.. so no problem in swalling it down again..

You can however go brush your teeth, gargle, and wash your nose (as in making wudhu).. as many times as you please..

I can remember my first Ramadan I was in the bathroom washing my nose a zillion times and gargling.. I had complete dryness of the throat..  as long as you dont swallow any outside sourse its ok..

Allah is ever merciful and if there is an illness or condition that is hurting you.. you are exempt from fasting.. so if you truly have a problem with severe throat dryness and its really irritating.. that is considered an illness and you can forgo fasting due to this.. maybe talk to a doctor during your next visit.. you might have some food allergies that causes excessive phlegm and removing those foods might help.. I know dairy products, milk, cheese etc causes excessive phlegm.. so try to not drink milk before you go to bed or for sahoor..

  2. Anything within you, is permitted for you.

  3. Dear,

    Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahhi Wabarakatuh.

That is not Haram. It's not from outside. It's from inside. After all you're not eating or drinking. It's only your own phlegm.

    Wabillahhitaufiq Walhidayah Wassalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahhi Wabarakatuh.

  4. AAHAHAHAHAHA

    Thats too silly...

but it is detested that one collects alot of mucus and then swallows it so you know things become easy for him... i mean alot btw...

  6. that is not haram. your parents are being too extreme. your own body is producing the mucus its not something your are putting into your body from the outside! lol

dont listen to your parents,. swallow your mucus, its your OWN mucus you made it! and it does not quench your thirst or give you pleasure at all (i hope) your parents prob are the type that dont even brush their teeth in the morning either when they fast right?  please...

  7. It's not haram..Because mucus is not consider food nor water..

Besides, it comes from inside your body; you don't buy it and eat it!

  8. Swallowing Sputum or Phlegm by a Fasting Person

    Question:

What is the ruling on swallowing sputum or phlegm by a fasting person?

    Answer:

If sputum of phlegm does not reach the mouth, then it does not break the fast, and there is only one opinion on this in the Mathhab.

If it does reach the mouth, then he swallows it, the scholars hold two opinions regarding it:

Some of them hold that it breaks the fast, including it in the same category as food and drink. Others hold that it does not break the fast, including it in the same category as saliva, for saliva does not break the fast, even if one collected his saliva and swallowed it, his fast is not invalidated.

When the scholars disagree, it is necessary to refer to the Book (of Allaah) and the Sunnah; and if we are in doubt at to whether this matter invalidates the act of worship or it does not invalidate it, then the basic principle is that it is not invalidated and based upon this, swallowing sputum does not break the fast.

The important thing is that a person leaves his sputum, and does not try to draw it into his mouth, then he should expel it, whether he is fasting or not. As for breaking the fast, it requires an evidence which will be a convincing proof for a person before Allaah, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, for the invalidation of the fast.
