Phoenix Coyotes Shane Doan in talks with Vancouver Canucks -NHL Update
Vancouver Canucks are bound to get someone and it seems like they are now deciding to go full pursuit for Phoenix Coyotes’ captain Shane Doan, as the two were reported to have met for dinner in a restaurant in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
It is still not sure with whom the captain was meeting with, but reports from various sources have come to the conclusion that it was with a representative of the Vancouver Canucks club for sure.
If Done makes a move to the Vancouver Canucks, it just might be the most shocking and surprising of the offseason after Ryan Suter and Zach Parise collectively leaving behind their original clubs for a mega million dollar deal with Minnesota Wild.
Jason Arnott, an unrestricted free agent of the St. Louis Blues is also said to be on the Canucks radar but he has more issues with moving as compared to Shane Doan supposedly.
"There have been some preliminary discussions," Arnott’s agent and brother, Wade Arnott, said Wednesday according to Ben Kuzma of The Province. "He has quite a bit left in the tank and wants to play the game a couple of more years and is willing to go on
one-year deals because he understands the business at his age.”
Vancouver Canucks now have to decide between Jason Arnott and Shane Doan. Both will be used to assist centre player, Ryan Kesler, and can do the job much better than expected for sure.
Wade Arnott went on to describe his brother as being underplayed last year and more befitting in a leadership role, which would be one reason for his possible transition to Vancouver with the Canucks.
"He's probably one of the most fit clients we have and he took on a little lesser role last year in St. Louis and played second line at times. But part of his role was to be a leader and bring the experience and he really taught the young core what it takes
to be a pro."
Money will obviously be the second thing that Vancouver takes into consideration when choosing over the players, but for now, only time will tell who joins the Canucks and who does not.
