Phoenix Coyotes beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in overtime to win eighth consecutive game

The second game of Tuesday was the Philadelphia Flyers hosting the Phoenix Coyotes at the Wells Fargo Arena. Both teams were looking for a win with the Coyotes having strong chances of winning as they had good decent record and won their last game against
the Flyers which was played over a year ago during the last season.
Though the Flyers were leading going into the final period, the Coyotes scored twice in the final period to get into the lead. However, the Flyers were able to deal with the pressure and scored in the final period to get into the lead. The Coyotes scored
to level the scores in the dying stages of the game. The scores were level on 2-2 at the end of regulation time so the game went into overtime where the Coyotes scored to win the game. Shane Doan, winger of the Coyotes was named the star of the game for scoring
the winning goal.
The Flyers made a brilliant start to the game as they were on the attack from the very first second. They fired quite a few shots on goal early in a period. It was just a matter as to when the Flyers would score and they finally did in the 7th
minute. The goal was scored by Ville Leino from a decent tip in shot.
The Coyotes also caught pace with the passage of time and made a couple of goal attempts and created scoring chances from themselves on quite a few occasions. However, they weren’t able to capitalize from them. The period came to end with no further goals
scored.
The Flyers led 1-0 as the period ended as they made 11 goal attempts in the period while the Coyotes finished the period on high managing 9 goal attempts.
The second period saw both teams on fire after a making a slow start. The period was defence dominated as there were very less goal attempts during the first half of the period. However, both teams took the initiative with the passage of time and started
to come across scoring chances.
Unfortunately, despite coming across some easy scoring chances neither of the teams was able to find the back of the net. As the end of the period approached, it looked as if a goal was on the way. However, this didn’t happen as the period ended goalless
with the Flyers leading 1-0. During the period, Flyers made 11 goal attempts while the Coyotes made 7 goal attempts.
The Coyotes made a brilliant start to the final period as they scored in the 3rd minute through Eric Belanger from a well placed shot to level the scores. The Flyers started to come up with attacks in their search of scoring a goal.
Unfortunately, it was the Coyotes who scored in the 11th minute to get into the lead. The goal was a result of well placed shot by Taylor Pyatt. The period saw the Flyers making goal attempts every now and then as the period neared its end. The
Flyers scored in the dying stages of the game through Claude Giroux to level the scores once again.
The period ended with the scores level on 2-2 with the Flyers making 15 goal attempts in the final period while the Coyotes made 7 goal attempts. The game went into overtime where during power play Shane Doan scored the winning goal for the Coyotes as they
won 3-2 in the end to record their eighth straight win.
