Phoenix Coyotes show resistance to potential lockout, ownerless situation -NHL Update
The Phoenix Coyotes might be one of the only teams facing so many troubling situation as they stand without a solid ownership group to advocate their feelings to the league, are on the verge of losing their captain, Shane Doan, to another team and have the
fear of going into a lockout after a top-level season.
For fans, the Phoenix Coyotes is the team that is supposed to take it to the next level next season and not having a hockey year in the mix would mean that all that momentum that was built up over the past season could now be on the edge of being lost forever.
Coyotes have never won a Stanley Cup and last playoffs, they were just an inch away, but a lockout could take them a mile back from where they finished off.
"The last few years they've proven that if you play a good system and work hard and play a certain way and are coached well, you can go far -- and they have," newly added forward, David Moss, said according to AZCentral.com.
Coyotes also lost Ray Whitney over the offseason as he decided to join Jaromir Jagr on the Dallas Stars roster and is hoping to play with a team that not only has a bright future ahead but gain a lot while he is at it.
Regardless of all the things that are seeming to be going against the Phoenix Coyotes, the desert club is not fearful at all about what might happen and seems to be rather confident about the whole situation.
"We're trying to fit the parts together and make sure we play a way that gives us the best chance to win," Coyotes’ head coach, Dave Tippett, said.
"We hope to settle Doan," Tippett added. "That would be the one big one, obviously. Other than that, I don't foresee any other moves before camp."
Keeping a close eye on the situation with Phoenix Coyotes will certainly be exciting as they definitely are one of the teams that might strike gold next season or could be back to square one with the loss of Shane Doan and Ray Whitney.
