Phoenix Coyotes wins 5-2 against Anaheim Ducks in a nerve-wrecking match between the two sides
The final game of the day was hosted at the Honda Center as Anaheim Ducks played hosted Phoenix Coyotes.
This game saw Coyotes caught up in a close battle for the playoffs as they looked to move ahead of the tight battle between couple of teams.
Ducks scored the opening goal but Coyotes scored twice in the period to lead as the whistle to end the first period blew.
The second period saw both teams approaching the game with same tactics which saw both teams scoring.
Coyotes were leading 4-2 at the end of the second period. 
Coyotes scored once again in the final period to win the game 5-2 in the end.
Ilya Bryzgalov was named the star of the game as he made 36 saves during the game.
Both teams made a decent start to the game which saw them coming up with some brilliant plays at the start of the proceedings. There were a couple of shots early on but they went wide of the target. Things got better for both teams with a few minutes passing
by.
Ducks used the start to the benefit as they scored through Corey Perry from a tip in shot to get into the lead. Coyotes weren’t far behind as they too came up with some superb pieces of play and decent passing. They too scored in the 6th minute
through Taylor Pyatt from a well placed flick shot to level the scores.
Both teams were seen firing shots on goal and it was Coyotes who scored the goal in the 18th minute through Lauri Korpikoski to get into the lead.
The period ended with Coyotes leading 2-1 as they made 11 shots on goal during the period while Ducks made 13 shots on goal.
The second period saw both teams continuing with the dominating display when it came to the offence. Ducks took some time but managed to score in the 16th minute through Corey Perry once again during power play to level the scores.
Coyotes weren’t far behind as they came up with some decent plays and scored through Lauri Korpikoski in the 17th minute to get back into the lead.
Coyotes continued to pile pressure and scored once again in the final minute through David Schlemko from a powerful strike to double their advantage.
The period ended with Coyotes leading 4-2 as the teams went into the break. During the period, Coyotes made 10 shots on goal while Ducks made 15 shots on goal.
The final period saw both teams making 10 goal attempts during the period but it was Shane Doan, captain of Coyotes, who scored the only goal in the final minute through a powerful strike to win the game by 5-2 in the end.
