Question:

Phoenix Gold Amp keeps burning my fuse...HELP!!!!?

I keep on changing the fuse in my Phoenix Gold XS 2300 Amp, and it keeps burning when I turn my truck on. I've already wasted 8 fuses and it is certain something is wrong.

I called PG and they told me it is the Output Transistor...

Anyone know if this can be fixed by me or do I really need to loose my amp for 2 weeks to have the company repair it...Complicated or not???

Any help would be great!

Thanx

Sandy

  1. The best thing you need to do is get a quality amp. Phoenix is one of the cheapest amp (quality & price).

  2. the best thing for u to do,is get a high quality amp, like a soundstorm amp, they are high quality,i have one with a pair of 12" 1200watt soundstorm stealth subs.

  3. Hi Fonics Amp would be your best choice through and through.

  4. if you are going to keep your amp it would need to be fixed by them. with that said i would get a higher quality amp with-in the specs of your speakers since you didnt list them i will use the specs of the amp that you have. by the way Phoenix Gold's website is c**p it was h**l trying to get to the manual for that amp. anyway you amp is listed at...... 75 watts rms by 2 channels at 4 ohm..... 150 watts rms by 2 channels at 2 ohm.... 300 watts rms by 1 channel (bridge) at 4 ohm. this is an amp that is not that expensive and it might be a better idea to replace it instead of getting it fixed. i suggest this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6570... but thats just because i like Kicker amps but this it also a good amp for a good price http://www.millionbuy.com/tmat3602.html i dont know if you are using this amp to power subs or full range speakers but in either case you have a lot of options under the $200 mark.

    i hope this helps
