Phoenix Suns look to shine against Sacramento Kings, Amare Stoudemire missing
The Sacramento Kings will play against the Phoenix Suns tonight at 9:00 pm at the US Airways Center, Phoenix.
The last time both the teams played against each other was on October 5, 2010 at Arco Arena, Sacramento, CA. The Kings had taken the lead in that game against the Suns 109-95. This was the first pre-season opener match and the Kings were lucky enough to
take the lead.
The last game that the Phoenix Suns won was against the Atlanta Hawks 118-114. J. Richardson scored 21 points whereas S. Nash scored 19 points to add to the final score that made them fly past the Hawks. Although, the game was tied 12 times and the Hawks
tried their best, the Suns would not let the Hawks take the win home.
The game was taking twists and turns until Channing Frye from the Phoenix Suns took a feed from Steve Nash that was already being pursued by the Atlanta Hawks point guard Mike Bibby. Frye took an 11 foot turnaround that broke the final tie of the game. Nash
succeeded in taking four free throws that made victory for the Suns possible.
There are some players, who cannot help the Suns when they are in danger. Robin Lopez is one person, who the Phoenix Suns should not rely on considering his records. He has so far an average of 4.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg.
The Kings on the other hand knocked the Toronto Raptors down 111-108 in their last victory against them. They gave an outstanding performance in that game having players like Tyreke Evans, who scored as many as 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Blank spaces to be filled for the Suns in order to clinch a win
Things have really changed for the Phoenix Suns this year. They are playing without one of their key players, Amare Stoudemire. He was their leading scorer last year and now he has been signed as a free agent to the New York Knicks for a $100 million. Key
reserves such as Leandro Barbosa and Lol Amundson are also not present. They were the ones who made it possible for the Suns to reach the finals of the Western Conference last season.
To cover up for the above mentioned loss they acquired Hedo Turkoglu during an offseason trade. Later Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress were added to an offensive lineup that was already strong.
Young Evans, the one player who can be feared by the Suns
Tyreke Evans is the one player, who the Phoenix Suns should be afraid of, during this upcoming match. This 21-year old, 6 ft 6 plays guard for the Kings and is the one main player, who scored 26 points for the Kings and made them victorious while playing
against the Phoenix Suns.
If Evans was not enough the Kings also have Cousins
De Marcus Cousins, who is a fifth overall pick, played his debut match against the Suns. Tonight, De Marcus Cousins is the one player, who will be expected to fill the empty spaces that the Sacramento Kings have had for years.
Cousins was also awarded rookie of the year award last year along with Tyreke Evans. Both the players proved themselves while playing against the Suns in their previous match. Cousins made an 8 of 13 right from the field and gave the Kings a 47-36 rebound
advantage over the Suns.
In order to win the Phoenix Suns will have to out shine all these players that the Kings have, otherwise they will have to hide behind the clouds once again.
