NBA preview: Phoenix Suns meet Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night
The Phoenix Suns meet the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night at the famous Rose Garden in Portland.
Previous game stats
Portland Blazers (9-11)
The Portland Trail Blazers cruised past the Los Angeles Clippers 100-91 on Sunday. They scored 47 rebounds and had 40 points in the paint.
Andre Miller took back-to-back steals in the final minute, when they needed them the most. Miller stamped his authority on the game as he scored all four of Portland’s free throws. His team-mate Nicloas Batum described his performance by saying that Miller
saved the game for his side.
Phoenix Suns (11-9)
The Phoenix Suns defeated the Washington Wizards 125-108, when the sides met each other on Sunday.
Steve Nash was lively and played brilliantly, as he scooped every shot that came the Suns’ way. The Suns were firing on all cylinders as they hit a brilliant 59 points by half-time, which put them in control against the Wizards. They were equally as ruthless
in the second half, and left the Wizards shocked as they raced away to victory.
The Trail Blazers will have to keep Nash quiet if they want to get something out of the game, otherwise he is good enough to single handedly win the game for his side.
Players to watch
Earl Barron
Earl Barron scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 17 minutes on the court against Washington. He has an average of 3.0 points and 3.4 boards. Barron is so quick that he often picks up rebounds off his own missed shots.
Others
The Suns have a bundle of players to rely on. They have Jason Richardson, Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Channing Frye, and Hedo Turkoglu. How many players would the Blazers need to mark them in the box? Even Hakim Warrick has a shooting percentage of 55.5 and
is drawing six free throws per game.

Blazers fall sick, very often
The Blazers have been experiencing some injury problems of late. They have a large number of injuries, so it seems that even a menial headache sometimes confines them at home and they can’t join their team-mates in the box.
The Trail Blazers answer Nash is Patrick Mills. He is pressing on 20 points and dishing out 17 assists. The 22-year-old Mills is a very active player; he can be seen popping around the box with the ball, dribbling it here and there efficiently but his lack
of defence gives the opponents an edge over him.
Miller to miss the game
The big worry for Portland is that Andre Miller won’t be playing this game, hence the Trail Blazers will not have any one standing to their offence. Portland will be hoping the rest of their players can put in a strong performance to improve their season
win-loss record.
