Hey Everyone!

My daughter is turning 11 in 10 days and she is very good always helpful etc we moved here a few months ago and she misses her friends a lot but she has still got on with her life! My husband and I would like to reward her with a nice, good and expensive phone.

We were thinking on getting a N95 8GB or the IPhone but we think the IPhone isn't very good because you cant use it outside the country you have bought it from and I have the N95 8GB and i know she won't like having the same as her mother she will want something different! She doesn't know we are getting her a phone its more of a surprise!

Please can you give us some ideas of nice Phones and she also likes Pink too!

No rude comments saying she is spoiled or demanding she isn't.

Thanks.

  1. Why do kids need cell phones, seriously? So they can run up bills while texting messages to their friends? A cell  phone is a toy to kids, We adults got along just fine without them when we were that age! Until the kid has a job and is old enough to pay for the bills themselves, they don't need a phone.

With that said, I would  get my child a phone for the issue of safety if deemed necessary. But the only calls they would be allowed to make are to me or their father. And it wouldn't be a 'suped' up phone where they could download music & what not, that is just another distraction from doing their school work.

  2. Well I'm thirteen and I have a simple flip phone. It's a motorola v323, if you wanna look it up online. I like it, and there are a lot of cool covers you can get for it too. I got a pink and sparkly one. I think you can only buy the covers online. I got mine on eBay. So yeah, I think that's a good idea to get her a phone. I don't think that's spoiled or demanding. I was eleven when I got my cell phone and almost 2 years later it's still in great shape. I love pink too! And what did you mean she's helpful, do you have a new baby or something? Or did u mean just in general?

  3. Getting a kid a phone is great, but getting a kid an expensive phone is just silly. No matter how responsible or perfect she is, she will drop it/wash it/damage it/lose it/have it stolen.

You can get great phones for under $100 that can play music and do all the fancy stuff kids like to do without shelling out a ton of money. Just look around the store for what is on sale. I am sure she would be just as happy with a cute little phone that texts and plays music.

  4. A phone will lead to problems. My sister got a phone at a young age, and honestly it turned her into a s***k. She was texting boys way too much and it got her into a lot of trouble. It leads to sneaking out etc. Please don't get your 11 year old child a phone. It is irresponsible as a parent. If you must, get her the phone designed for a child only capable of making calls to and from mom and dad.

  5. I really think that since she likes pink you should give her a Pink Lg Venus its a touch screen slide hope that helps

  6. Lol ... do not get your daughter a very expensive phone such as the Iphone ... even my husband broke his Iphone. I love mine, but it is definitly not suitable for an 11 year old....

I would suggest a Razor .. they come in pretty pink colors, but have an insurance option.

  7. I got a phone around that age am 13 now.

I like samsung's. I have a really nice purple slide up phone (samsung).

I don't think you should give your daughter a iphone at 11.

I think it would get damaged scratched. wait till she is 13 or 14 and get her a really nice phone like the iphone.

Get a her a descent one like on that's good for messaging (get it on a good network) and that has a camera and one that can play songs.

I think that would be a lovely gift for your daughter.
