Hi, I need some advice/HELP with this: -

I'm just starting a new business with 2 other people. We want one number (if possible) that customers will ring and calls to be forwarded to 5 or 6 other numbers. So we have been looking at a VOIP service with Vonage. We would like it to work like this: -

A customer rings 01270123456 (Vonage number)

the call comes in and it is forwarded to 3 other 01270 numbers (non-vonage) and 3 mobiles. We don't mind if there is a certain order they ring, but it would be good if they could all ring at the same time and whoever answers accepts the call.

We have been told however than once the call is accepted the line would then be engaged for any other customers ringing us and we would also not be able to ring out over the vonage service. The only way around this as we can see is to have another line with a different number that forwards the calls to the same set of phones??? This means then however giving customers multiple numbers.

IDEALLY we would want 1 number and the line NOT to be engaged once we answer/make a call.

With normal BT lines it is possible to have multiple lines with the same number, is this not possible with the Vonage VOIP service? OR any other service either VOIP or not????

Can anybody PLEASE help me with this, i would REALLY appreciate your thoughts/ideas.

Thanks!

  1. InPhonex provides local area phone numbers to over 30 countries around the world, including the UK.

It is not a problem getting a UK DID phone number.

Even though they are USA based company, I use them here in Canada, with a Canadian local phone number.

I did the same thing with CallCentic.  They too are USA based, but provide DID phone numbers to 30+ countries too.

I also had a CallCentric local Alberta, Canada phone number with them.

You can do it with InPhonex.

They have Call Forwarding and Call Hunting, sequentially or simultaneously, to multiple numbers.

I use their service as my primary home phone VoIP service.

I just tested the Forwarding and Hunting features and it worked.

If the primary number called was in use, the call got forwarded to the specified forwarding number.  So, it appears to handle multiple incoming calls to the one DID phone number.

I use thier LiteLine service for $7.95/month, which includes one DID phone number in any area code of your choice.  It includes all the bells and whistles.  All incoming calls are free.

All forwarded calls are charged at 2.5¢ per min.

To use it as a Call Forwarding service, you do not even have to purchase any VoIP equipment.  Just configure your InPhonex LiteLine DID account to forward all incoming calls to your DID (your purchased phone number) to the list of phones you want all incoming numbers to be Sequentially, or Simultaneously forwarded to.

If you have a "high volume" of incoming calls, they may ask you to upgrade to a business package.
