ok so today this man called my house he knew my name and email and he told me that i had enter a sweepstakes and that i was 1 of 4 finalist, but i dont remember if i entered a contest. the prices are a navigator, $2,500 check, a cruise and a 32" plasma tv.

He gave me the address and his number and name and he told me that we didnt need to sign or buy anything all we had to do is go to their company presentation decide if we want it to buy or not but he didnt say wat.

But im only 17 i dont have any kind of records why would they want to scam me? could it be a scam? or is it real?

  1. Yes, probably a scam. We "won" a free honeymoon and went to the presentation for some sort of way over-priced pots and pans. No honeymoon was given. You could go to see what it is, but based on my experience, you'd be waisting your time. It it was a sweepstakes that you had entered, you'd get the prize, no strings attached.

  2. When these new scam phone calls come through they are usually from a mobile service or a NSW number...(If you're in Australia)...I have missed many of these calls, and a quick google search of the missed calls number reveals countless message boards and forums where these phone numbers have been flagged as Spam...I suggest you do the same - get the number, and just put into a google search like this: "xxxxxxxxxxxx" and hopefully you will have your answer.
