Phone card and caller i.d. question about someone else's name?

a friend i know bought a house from a well known person after 3 yrs. their name comes up on caller i.d. when they use their phone card to call long distance it was once this person's phone but after 3 yrs how? there is no trace on the phone bill or the system how can that be?

it is possible if the phone company made some sort of weird clerical error.

Most caller ID accounts are held by 3rd party oversees companies, so in that respect, its even more possible.

You know how those outsourced jobs go.

They kept the ph# under the other person's name. Since it was a well known person they decided to keep his ph# and pay the bill.

At the same time the person that owned the ph# before forgot to disconnect it, so now it still in use by your friend
