Phone cost from breezes in Curacao to the U.S.?

We are going to stay at the breezes in Curacao in February and we are trying to find out the best way to call home we have heard that if you buy a calling card you need to use the pay phone which is the cheapest way but the closest pay phone is across the street, and we are trying to find out how much it cost to call direct from the resort/room phone to the U.S. Satelite phones are very expensive. We did find out if you use your room phone and a calling card it cost $5 the first minute then $2 a minute there after!
