Question:

Phone lines are dead, but DSL works??? HELP ME PLEASE!!?

My DSL is working fine. I have unplugged every phone line and the DSL several times but nothing seems to be working. I just hear a long dead signal. When i call my house from a different phone, the line is busy?? any suggestions?? Please Help!

  1. DSL is on a different line or circuit outside, that is why it is able to keep your telephone lines open.  Maybe a line is down outside.  Call the your phone company.  : )  I only know this because I worked at a phone company for almost 3 years.


  2. If the DSL is working it sounds like a problem at the CO (Central Office). I'd go ahead and report the trouble to your carrier. There are any number of things that could be wrong, but since your DSL is working it sounds like it is on the carrier side.  Good luck.

    Sorry Someone, but DSL is on the same circuit as the telephone line. They are just different frequencies on the same circuit.
