Phone rates in a differnt country ...could anyone help?

hiya just wundering cus im going to italy this friday

how much does it cost a orange pay as you go phone to call an american land line ... but on the animal tarrif: camel, but in italy =P ... please can anyone tell me soon .... =D ..smiles

It'll cost you a fortune. Way over the top. Just don't do it. Even calling the US from the hotel will be cheaper, even with the way hotels overcharge for phone calls.

Better idea, call from a call box.

My own method: I use a wifi phone with a SIP contract. There are plenty of free hotspots (mainly in cafes and restaurants). Calls to the US then cost me 1 cent a minute. Alternatively, I have a friend who does the same with a Skype wifi phone. Same idea, works the same way. Calls cost 2 cents a minute, but quality is better.
