Phone use in the Bahamas- how will I be charged?

I have Verizon service and want to know if I use my phone to make calls to others traveling with me how will I be charged? Any suggestions to economic phone use when traveling?

They have a couple of international phones and the rates depend on the country,

  You can get a motorola z6c phone and that will suffice. It sucks Verizon is the way it is as it is not international user friendly. it's also not easy to switch phones either. Where as other carriers just allow you to swap out sim cards Verizon has a webpage that never works and then you gotta call and beg them.
