Phone won't work after having digital?

I had a telephone service through my cable provider which was digital phone service. I cancelled the account and established an account with a telco and now have a POTS line. I have a dial tone at my box, and the line was plugged into the box, but I don't have a dial tone inside my house. I don't have the box they gave me plugged in or any other phone line plugged into the jacks inside. What could be the problem? Perhaps maybe the NID has been disconnected from the inside?

  1. when the cable phone service was connected to your inside wiring the tech did what he was supposed to and disconnected your inside wiring going to the NID either at the NID (like he should have) or somewhere inside..

the simplest way to find out would be to get a tone generator and probe, and sent tone from your inside wiring to your NID...

or you can trial and error at the NID with the wires that are disconnected..

just connect the wiring back to the terminals at the customer side of the NID

  2. that right!!   you have answered your own question....call the phone company and have them switch it back!

  3. take all the wires and hook it up your self. it is easy. green to green and red to red, or white to green and blue to red. unplug the test jack first. there will be more wires there don't use them. you need only what is listed above.
