Phoning Abroad??

Hi. I tried to phone my cousin abroad but I just herd 3 beeps and then it ended the call. What does that mean?

I managed to send a text message.

  1. "3 beeps" - I am guessing you called from a mobile, the 3 beeps, if a error on connection, you can sometimes get them on landlines too.

    The issue could be many things, I would retry the call, then wait a few minutes are redial. if your still having a problem call the international operator, and they will help you to connect the call, they can also advise of where the problem may be.

    The number for International Assistance on BT is 155.

  2. may be you dail the wrong country code,  so you can not get it through.

  3. I would check the settings on your phone as these might be set to restrict some calls ie. International calls. Its usually quite easy to change it. If you're not sure then call your provider and they should be able to either check or talk you through changing it. Call restrictions dont usually affect texting hence why you can still send them. If this isn't the problem then they will probably be able to explain what the problem is
