  1. you can do most editing with photoshop, mostly designed for adjusting photos and applying effects, there may be others if you want to paint and design, or make photo albums and diary layouts, also look at what you may be using with it as in camera, tablet, printer, scanner, and software with those items,

  2. It depends what you want to do with it. There are hundreds of things you can do with Photoshop and as a Graphic and web designer it is a tool I use every day.

It's easy to get to grips with the basics and takes longer to learn how to do more complex things but if you have time to play about with it you will pick it up quickly.

It's great for resizing, recolouring, retouching photos and there are loads of "filters" if you want to add effects to your images.

  3. You can really do a lot with it. You can improve the colors, sharpness, quality of your photos. You can put special effects on them. It's almost endless. The only downside is that it's kind of overwhelming. You can try www.picnik.com first--a web-based photo editing site. It does some of the same things that photoshop does for free.
