Photo traffic citation?

Ive got a photo traffic citation for a right turn on a red light in CA here(which I believe is a free right turn anyways). Anyone know how I can contest this?

Take a picture of the sign or proof of no sign and go to court.

Yes, unless it is posted that you can't, you can turn right on a red light AFTER a stop.  Sounds like you went through it perhaps on yellow rather than stopping first.

you can contest anything. I supprised they didn't send instructions with it. I would call the court house.

If you think that it is free then go back and recheck and take pictures of it and also pictures of any signs as well.

-----You can contest it. You can contest anything. The citation, front or back, should tell you how to contest it. There should be web sites which will tell you a lot. You may be able to make an entry on the web site to contest it. It will probably require you to appear in front of a Judge in court. Larger cities have a special Traffic Court that hears nothing but such cases. In smaller places, you will appear in regular Misdemeanor Court. You do not have to have a lawyer with you or involved in any way. I always contest such things.  You have little to lose besides your time, and you will gain valuable experience. I suggest you go as early as possible, to learn as much as possible from the event. I think it is well worth missing school to appear in Court as a Defendant to plead your case. There should be no cost; beyond your time, it should be free. ---Jim
