  1. Photoshop is regarded as one of the best, unfortunately it is not cheap. If you are not interested in paying a large amount I recommend "the GIMP." It is free but has many of the capabilities of the more expensive/commercial programs.

  2. Adobe Photoshop CS3 is the industry standard but it does cost $650. It is really overkill for most people. I recommend that you start out with Photoshop Elements. It has most of the features of CS3 and only costs $100.

  3. Adobe Photoshop CS3. Best program ever!

  4. If you do not want to go the Photoshop route yet, buy Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. It is around $80 and is really all a photographer needs without being a resource hog. The eclecticacademy.com has 6 week classes on line for Elements at only $20 per course and will help you learn quickly.

  5. adobe photo shop ................the best                     goooooood luck

  6. Depending on your budget I would go with Photoshop Elements to start with for less than hundred dollars.

If you're needs are more specialized then go with the Full Adobe Photoshop

  7. I agree, CS3 (photoshop) is the best.  However, it is a complicated program.  I would suggest taking a class on how to properly use it at your local community college.  In the meantime, I would either start with Elements, or try Lightroom.  You can make a lot of editing changes in Lightroom, and it allows you to understand lighting a bit more before moving on to something more heavy-duty (like CS3).  Hope this helps!  Good luck!

  8. photoshop cs3, take tutorials and start with "auto" levels and curves that you can edit colors and tones with.  The more you play with it, the faster you'll learn.  If you get another program, you will regret it
