My friend got banned on DeviantArt.com for uploading her own artwork. Basically someone stole her photo and then framer her for it. Anyways, now where can my friend go to upload her photography. Any free sites for a web gallery besides Flickr and DA?

  1. well if she really wanted, she could make a new DA and upload different pictures, but if she'd like she can try any of these;

    there aren't very many sites like DA, surprisingly. You or her could make a temporary account that's there just to comment people. I'd ask a few people that post only photography about another site. If you really want, she could make her own photography website on xanga or freewebs. Xanga is a nice site to do stuff like that, once you understand the site. It's nicer than DA in the fact that you get to design almost every aspect of your page and put whatever you want on it. I have ones for my own photo work.

    Give it a try X]

    these are the sites I've made with xanga, if you want examples;;

    www.xanga.com/yeaah_aim_profiles   [not photography, but still]

    www.xanga.com/lights_camera_photograph...  [i did not take these pics, but this is a pretty nice example of what you could do with xanga photography-wise]

    and this is all my work www.xanga.com/seasideXxDesigns  [another way of putting images on an xanga]

  2. First of all if the photo was hers she needs to straighten that out with DeviantArt. Does she have the origianl file with the exif data ? It may be able to prove to them she is innocent. If not does she have witnesses who can write the site and testify that the work is hers ? How did the other person get her work ?

    It the other person infringed on her copyrite there is legal and civil recourse

    Edit: if you have 37 credible witnesses take the person to small claims court, name Deviant Art in the suit or supeona them as a witness. I feel pretty sure you will get some attention to your problem. Oh and BTW the copyright belongs to the person taking the picture without them having to register it or anything else
