What equipment do you need.

Ex: A boy holding a ball and the only thing in color is the ball.

  1. You have to download photoshop.  Or you have to buy this kit that comes with a cd and it has all the tools to do it and what not on your computer.  It's usually at like Target by the magazines or something.  But you're better off downloading photoshop

  2. No equipment or program needed. You can make BW photos with color in them using these free online image editors:

    Picnik

    http://www.picnik.com/

Make the photo black and white. Repaint over items you want in color with color filter.

    Splashup

    http://www.splashup.com/

Create a dupe layer Convert to black and white. Erase the parts you want in color.

    FotoFlexer

    http://fotoflexer.com/

Duplicate the layer and change it to grayscale Erase items you want to be in color in the BW layer, so that the color shows through.

  3. There's no camera that will automatically do this. To get that effect I would suggest a photo editing program. I use Photoshop for all of my projects and it works wonders, but it is quite expensive. Fortunately there are many other programs out there. Simply type "photo editing program" on google and read about each one to find out which fit's your needs the best.

  4. You edit this later in a photo editing program. Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are two examples.

The photo is taken usually in colour first.

Then in the photo editing program you duplicate the layer. Make the top layer black and white, then erase the ball. This will make it so that the colour will show through.

Merge the two layers and then save your file. :)

    I hope this helps.
