  1. Yeah, only the Army calls it Combat Camera.

If you go to www.us.army.mil there's a picture that changes daily on the first page top right that is usually taken by a Soldier who joined as Combat Camera.

  2. It's a good way

  3. I have a friend who was a Combat Photographer for the Army.  He also was an instructor for that job.  He worked allot with spec ops.  He set up live satellite feeds to the "rear" during missions.  For the Army it is vary small field and you will probably have to go air borne and get a high-level clearance.  Even though he was a "Combat Photographer" he spent much of his time with spec ops using extremely high tech communications to submit his images.  The Photography was only part of the job.

He is now a Recruiter.  He has injured himself from so many jumps, it hurts him to walk.

From how it sounded from him the job was incredible, he was gone alot and went MANY places.  Promotion is hard.

  4. I would think having that on your resume would give you an edge when trying to get a job. I would imagine photojournailsm experience in the military is identical to that of normal civilian photojournalism, only you're in more danger obviously.
