Photos (not digital, but prints) what is the most compact way to store these family memories?

I am not interested in scanning and getting these digitized. I would just like to make their storage a little less bulky. the 2 dozen or so photo albums all look shabby and are very bulky. What would you suggest for compactly storing these photos without having them transferred to a digital media?

get some nice acid free boxes to keep them in, categorize the photos by year or what ever way is convenient for you.  There are some very attractive boxes available, check at a camera store like Ritz or a local camera shop.
