Okay, So i've got this really cool picture.....but its got alot of the same colors...so its hard to use the Magic Wand to select the areas I want to keep, and those I want to be transparent.

There is a fairly definate black border around the butterfly, so it MiGhT be possible to capture just the butterfly.

Its a really cool picture as you can see, but I just want the butterfly and no background.

Thanks for any help.....if you want, you can resize it by 50% and send it back to me tp5@yahoo.com

Here is the pic:

  1. ok open the pix in photoshop.

next goto select menu> color range option.

once in the menu  select first dropper> select the black butterfly>move the the fuzziness to about 80. if you want to delete the surrounding then check the invert button press ok and delete button. id prefer to keep it unchecked and press ok. once you have your selection cut it out. open up a new blank page and paste the black only butterlfy. just makes it look nicer..hope that helps. if you need tips on adobe photoshop. just email me r8derfan218@yahoo.com

  2. For a really clean cutout, use the pen tool. This is tricky. If you're not familiar with it, now's a good time to learn.
