Photoshop Tutorials?

Question

I'm BRAND BRAND new at Photoshop (CS3 version) and i've been trying to figure out how to blend for a few hours with tutorials, internet articles, etc... but none of them help, in most of the videos on youtube you can't see the words clearly or keep track of where the mouse is, for a beginner it's very confusing.

so could someone give me step by step instructions or a VERY detailed tutorial on blending?
