Photoshop...colors please help?

I have no basic idea how to use this, so I know how to make a photo black & white, but I was trying to color it using quick mask, and it said I couldnt do it in alpha characters or something? Anyone know where I cant gain a basic knowledge of this stuff at?

Photoshop is a huge program, don't expect to learn it overnight.

You will really need to put a pile of effort into learning, and here are some places that can help you:

1) Use photoshop's helpfiles

2) Look around the Adobe website - they offer a number of tutorials

3) Your local library most likely has several good books on the subject

4) Youtube has tons of tutorials

5) Just google it - you'll get enough answers to keep you busy for a few years.
