Photoshop editing ..?

on a picture that i upload to the computer. how do i make everything black and white, and only one thing in colour using a photoshop sorta thing?

in photshop It's all in the layers. Create a layer from the background. Go to effects and turn that layer black and white. Then Choose your eraser and erase the part that you want colored. You are actually erasing the black and white layer in parts and the color layer below is showing through.

is it photoshop, or not? what kind of system are you on? It is usually pretty simple no matter what, but here are the steps on a mac with photoshop:

1-open pic.

2-from the top menu bar, select:

Image->mode->Grayscale.

now your pic is black and white.
