Photoshop: how do I put a person into another picture? And the sizes are different?

Adobe Photoshop 5.5

I have a picture of a large group of people. Then I have another picture of just one person, with a higher resolution.

I am trying to put the one person's head in the background of the group picture, as though he was in the original picture.

**How do I decrease the size of the one person's head? I have cropped around the person's head, but the 'layer' is still very large.

**And - how do I make the resolutions match better?

Any help is appreciated. And I need specifics. I am new to Adobe Photoshop advanced stuff.

Thank you!!

  1. drag the file in, get the select tool and look at the top,. there should be a text box saying something like "show outline to transform" or something.. click that, use your mouse to drag is smaller, hold shift to keep x and y same % change. mess around with layer to change the quality.. good luck.

  2. OK, i don't actually have Photoshop at the moment because my computer has been reformatted, so i can't go to check if I'm right, but i will try to help.

Ok go to the 'image' menu and choose 'image size' here you can edit the images size. Also if you do not want to make the image distorted you need to check the 'constrain proportions'.

Also in the 'image' menu there should be something about image quality or resolution, sorry i couldn't help more with that.

  3. to decrease the size of the picture, go to image (in the menu bar) and choose image size... decrease the size accordingly.

to make the resolution match better, well, arrange the pixel ratio. it is also helpful to customize the color range, luminosity and all that to make them look like they were took together.

to actually move the person, you can layer, but using the magnetic lasso tool is better. it really gets the whole photo you want to move. :)
