Photoshop size, and quality?

if i want to make a wallpaper of 2560 pixels by 1600 pixels. how do i get it to me a good quality?

i click "file" then "new" then i put the pixels i want and then on the bottom it asks for "resolution" what number should be there so i can make a jpeg picture? and for it not to be compressed and look jpeg" slopy.

  1. the pixels 2560 x1600 at 72 dpi is ~35 x 22 inches, so roughly an image 3x2 feet in size, you could try resolution at 300/ 600 dpi, try that, though mb size and any images placed on layout would have to be higher quality as well,
