  1. Photoshop is a pixel base application and Illustrator is vector base.  You  can see the difference when you zoom in on pictures made with PS (it becomes pixelated as you zoom in) and made with AI (maintain its color).  In terms of use, I find PS easier to use.   I recommend using PS for the invitation.

  2. Photoshop is an raster based image manipulation program with some rudimentary type tools.  Illustrator is a vector based illustration program with a very good and complex type engine, and other excellent graphics tools.

For a wedding invitation, you should be using illustrator. If you need to put photos or an image, use photoshop to manipulate the image, but build the card in Illustrator.

  3. photoshop is the best

if u had never used it, u can search tutorials...

or if u have any question, email me ;)

  4. Photoshop and Illustrator are 2 completely different programs for different needs. For what you want to do I would suggest using Illustrator. If you want to go the free route, there's a program called Inkscape that will pretty much allow you to do the same thing. It is fairly easy to use and wil still enable you to deliver high quality work. Most of these vector drawing programs are quite involved to learn, but that is well worth it in the scope that they offer for Graphic Design

  5. Well, as I graphic designer I choose Illustrator as you can have more options in regards to graphics and fonts. If you want to enlarge your images for A2 size poster, the Illustrator based graphic will still be 100% sharp as it's a vector based graphic programme. However, I am normally working across 2 platforms by manipulated my images in Photoshop (setting them in at lease 600 tpi resolution for best quality) then place them in Illustrator. There are lots of websites to show you some nice tricks and the like of www.dafont.com will provide you free beautiful fonts to download!

PS. I am getting married myself and making my own invitation!!

    Good luck!

  6. This is a desktop publishing task not photo editing or drawing so Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher are appropriate.
