How does the NADPH and ATP formed in the light reactions help in the biosynthesis of complex carbon structures?

I know that the NADPH and ATP are formed during the light reactions for the Calvin cycle but I don't understand how it helps the biosynthesis of the structures...

Thanks in advance!

  1. It has been a long time since I was in college as a biology major but I think that the primary function of those molecules is to provide energy to the calvin cycle --- When ATP is converted to ADP the loss of Phosphate provides a source of energy for other reactions. The conversion of NADPH to NADP also gives of energy via release of the H ion.

  2. NADPH and ATP both store energy; thus, they are important in biosynthesis structures
