The photosystems of cyanobacteria are embedded in plasma membranes and, in some cases, in internal membranes derived from the plasma membrane. The homologous photosystems in green plant cells would be found in the:

a) plasma membrane

b) outer chloroplast membrane

c) inner chloroplast membrane

d) inner chloroplast stroma

e) tonoplast membrane

I thought the photosystem of plants is located in the thylakoid membrane? So which one, C or D, is the better answer?

  1. The answer is C. They photosystems are located on the membrane, not in the stroma.

  2. I don't see the correct answer here.  You are right, they are in the thylakoid membrane.  The inner chloroplast membrane is NOT the thylakoid membrain and the stroma is the space between the inner membrane and the thylakoid membrane.  Its a bad question.
