Question:

Phototherapy and Protective Eye Wear?

I bought a handheld Narrow Band UV device to treat my facila psoriasis. It did not come with the usual protective Eye Wear.

Do I need to buy the special protective Eye Wear or my RayBans will suffice?

  1. It depends on the band of UV that the UV devices is emitting.  In truth your RayBans don't protect you from most UV light, only a small part of the UV band in the light spectrum.  The only thing that does protect you from all UV is welding equipment.  You should ask you optometrist what he thinks about using this UV device and how to protect your eye.
