Phpbb3 install not working?

A friend has installed phpbb3 - installation went well, no problems but the final product is blank.

he has php5 and sql but his own server Fedora. he has manually created the user/database and he says that the installing process goes well, no problems arise but as soon as it finishes, he goes to his forum and it appears as blank and nothing he does can fix it.

I say its a database error as no data is getting through but i do not know much about this or how manual db or users are created and was hoping someone might be able to help me.

page source and page info display nothing and page infos size shows 0kb which means its not creating anything.

any advise would be really helpful!

Hey there,

If you can't install phpBB3 on your server, then you should try something lower down such as a web host. That'll definitely make it work.

Sticking to this server, it could be the index file or the congif file if it's not hooked up correctly. Try re-entering the database details in the .config file.

If it's still not up and running, then either try reinstalling it this time letting the phpBB3 installation create the database tables for you or that your PHP isn't allowing those commands, make sure you have full PHP permission.
