yes there are many inexpensive places, but when i went they were all but deserted [ no tourests] so i opted for the most expensive place on the island[ i cant remember the name] it was right by the airport[ 15 min walk] i think it may have been "the sai gon phu quoc" i did some negotiating and got a room for about 30 - 40 us dollares, but there were other guests there and it was worth it. if you go to phu quoc take the plane from sai gon, both boats [ even the fast one ] are a tough trips. any taxi driver at phu quoc airport will take you around to check out a number of hotels.
