Phx suns...?

The suns acquired matt barnes... what do you think about it? Also, do you think he will be able to fill marions place? or do you think he will be a solid bench player?

I do not feel that anyone right now short of a star forward in the NBA could fill Marions place for the suns right now, let alone Barnes. Now barnes is a decent athlete, im not ripping on him but ever since the suns dealt "the matrix" I've held it in my belief that they would be hurting there for a while. The trade for Shaq was a huge mistake, why get a veteran Center who is recently haveing many off court problems and is about to retire within the next few years for your already great forward who still has the ability to keep playing for you for many more years to come. But that is neither here nor there, point is Marion was a starr for the suns, and Barnes just isnt as good as marion was, I do believe he will be a solid bench player and contribute that way, but for the suns to replace marion maybe they should make good on all the trade rumors about Shaq, and just ship him to Toronto for a decent player and mayb a future pick

He wouldn't even be close to filling marion place. He will be use for defensive pruposes off the bench.

Matt Barnes is a really good player, he played good for the Warriors and I think he will have a nice impact on the Suns. Barnes is not really there to fill Marion's spot. I think he is there to fill Hill's spot. Amare is taking over Marion's spot, Barnes is just going to add the 3 point touches. Barnes is very much going to come off the bench. He is going to be a solid player. Marion's shoe's is going to be pretty hard to fill. If the Suns had added Barnes instead of Hill, when Marion was on the team, they would have a killer team.

anyone can fill the 3pt shooting of marion.  barnes wont fill marions spot because hes simply not as good as marion.  it doesnt make a huge difference  him being there, especailyl since the suns wont be running and gunning so much.  but he should help fill in at the 3 and help on the defensive end.

i think they still need a pure shooter with the team they have.
