Ok i have a question about physical science,

This is the problem, Convert 2.00 miles to inches. You must use two conversion factors. The first factor convers miles to feet (5,280 ft/mi), and the second converts feet to inches (12 in/ft). Round to the nearest thousand.

I know the answer to this is 127,000 in. but does anyone know any formulas or anything to get it with?

thanks for any help

  1. I use factor label method:

    ? in= 2.00 miles*(5280 ft/1 mile)*(12 in/1 ft)=126,720 in (3 sig figs = 127,000 in)

The denominator of each fraction must cancel out the numerator of the previous fraction until you have the units you want.

  2. yaeh, there is 5 milse in every inch....
