A physical anthropologist can be a LOT of things, because there are many subspecializations within the field, and many that have crossovers. I list some of the most common, or most well-known below:

Forensic anthropologist - Helps solve legal cases looking at human remains.

Evolutionary anthropologist - Studies the history of evolution in humans and hominoids and creates theories.

Primatologist - Studies primates in order to help learn the connection (both past and present) between them and us.

Osteology anthropologist - A person that studies bones in human remains (and puts them back together again!).

Medical archaeologist - A person who determines eating habits, disease, and genetic malformations in ancient human remains.
