  3. In most states, Physical Education is a required curricular area that all students should have access to. If a student has a disability that prevents them from accessing physical education with his/ her general ed peers, then their physical education needs to be delivered in a way that the student can access it- as directed by their IEP. Many schools offer adapted PE, some offer adult support in a general ed PE class, and some do small group or 1:1 motor skill instruction with physical therapists or occupational therapists.
