Physicians Assistant: Which Courses and Which Programs?

I received a BA degree last spring and have been considering medicine; I wasn't certain whether I wanted to pursue nursing or a physician's degree, but now I am leaning toward a physicians assistant program.

Can you tell me which courses I should take in order to prepare myself before applying to any programs, and could you tell me the best programs I could apply to?
