Physics Genius needed for a word problem!! thank you!?

A car was stopped on stop sign at a curvy exit of a freeway. Because the exit was curvy, the driver (A) advanced his car about 1 feet just so she could have a better view of the incoming traffic before she merge in. The car behind (B) thought that driver A was accelerating, and so B accelerated too and unfortunately rear ended car A at the corner of car A bumper on the passenger’s side.

The surface area of the damage was 3” radius at the left side bumper --the driver A side.

Question 1) : suppose driver B hit driver A at the middle of the bumper, would the impact be less on the driver A? (impact is the force that driver A feels)

Question 2) : suppose the same weight and speed exerted on car A by car B but the surface area was greater than 3” radius, would the impact on the driver A be less--assuming that nothing else is changed….driver A in the same position etc. ?

Question 3) additional to all the above, suppose that (A) was not in the natural position, she was bending all the way close to the steering wheel, her shoulders was 90 degree twisted to the left side, her neck was twisted 90 degree when she was hit.

Do you expect greater damage to (A).? would you please be kind to explain? Thank you so much!!

please help, I need to present this word problem in more scientific form, like adding terms such as velocity, force, acceleration, .speed anything that you think is involved, I would look for the formulas and study them.

    Your question is  imaginary and thinking type  with insufficient  data for analysis.

    1. Impact will be less . Why ? The impact force  will be divided into appx half on the left and right side of the chassis/ body of car.( assuming perfect car condition)

    2. If the  surface area of impact is larger then force per  unit area is less . Hence the a driver will feel less force .

    3. this question is about  force  distribution on horizontal and vertical axis. since she is bending 90 deg. hence  force component one F Cos 90 = 0 and another component would F sin 90  = F .

    So she will feel more force in one directin in this case vertical

    Well are you a Car accident  simulator  or safety simulator?

  2. impact has direct relation to pressure and force.

    cant quite remember the relation but...

    pressure and impact can relatively be used interchangeably, and:

    pressure=force/unit area

    force=mass*acceleration

    for question 3, since mass remains the same for A, impact remains constant
