Physics Help with TRUE/ FALSE ?

I am having trouble understanding the concepts of E-field lines. Could someone please help me out with these True/False questions so I can be ready for my test on Friday.

1)Where the E-field lines are dense the E-field must be weak.

2)A positive point charge released from rest will initially accelerate along an E-field line.

3)E-field lines may cross.

4)E-field lines do not begin or end in a charge-free region except at infinity.

1)I don't understand how E lines could be dense

2) I think this one is false because charges start at NEG

3) I cannot think of a time lines have cross. They should all go in their own direction.

4) This I don't understand at all. I have never heard the words "in case of infinity" in class.

GUARANTEED 10 POINTS TO THOSE WHO HELP ME OUT.

Thank You!!!

  1. 1) Where the E-field lines are dense the E-field must be weak. False

    2) A positive point charge released from rest will initially accelerate along an E-field line. True

    3) E-field lines may cross. False

    4) E-field lines do not begin or end in a charge-free region except at infinity. False

  2. 1) False but its converse would be true.

    2) True

    3) No line cross at all. Its false. Because if they do so, then the unit positive test charge moving in the electric field will have two distinct paths to go through it at the point of intersection of the two Electric lines of forces. It will is impossible for nature to choose one of those paths for the charge and keep the other path as it is.

    4) True.

  3. 1 false

    2 true

    3 false

    4 false
