Q: A hose lying on the ground shoot a strem of water upward at an angle of 40 to the horizontal. The Speed of water is 20 m/s. As it leaves the hose. how high will it stikea wall which is 8 meters away?

  1. according to the equation of range attained by a projectile,

    R=(v^2/2g)sin 2(angle)

    you know the velocity and angle so you can get the range attained by the water coming out of the hose.the distance between the hose and the wall is 8m and the range will come up to be by the formula equals to 40m so to cover this range the water has to attain the height of 5m as (8)(5)=40
