Hi Umm... I need help, I am doing my GCSE's right now, and I need to know what I wanna be when I grow up.

Heres what I have chosen:

1.Writer. (Fiction story writer)

2.Archeologist.

3.????

I need to have 3. And I am good at english lit and normal english. So writers ok.

I dunno about Archeology, but I have Geography at the moment at grade B.

But my best subject is science, physics imperticular, space, atmosphere, heat and radiation.

I have heard of becoming a physicist.

What jobs can I get with a degree in physics??

Thats what I want to know?

(Apart from a science teacher)

The following professional learned organisations can also help:-

        Institute of Physics

        The various engineering societies

        The Royal Astronomical Society

        The General Medical Council

        The Veterinary Society.

NB  With respect to your question. The grammar contained therein.

'english' should be 'English' ; 'normal english' is 'English grammar'; 'imperticular' should be inparticular'; 'Thats' should read 'That's' as it is apostrophied for 'That is'.

NNB Do Maths to the highest level possible, as in any scientific or technical career it is a vital part of understanding. You will struggle without it. !!!!

  2. There is a simple solution - don't grow up.

Edit: OK well just study what you enjoy. Don't worry about what you want to do as a career. If you know now what to do it might be worth starting to do it before your career.

  3. With a physics degree, you could: -

Study for an M.Sc and or a Phd,

    become a research assistant,

    become a computer programmer,

    become a university lecturer,

    Work for the military,

    become a nuclear weapons specialist,

work at a nuclear power station,

work at CERN (the LHC) or an other accelerator ring or linear accelerator,

    Electronics industry,

Chemical industry (certain forms of research)

There are many, many more options for a graduate physicist. As the say 'the world is your oyster!'.

  4. Most degrees allow you to go into a whole host of graduate jobs, lots of employers dont really care what your degree is as long as its a good one. So dont worry too much about job.

Of course if you want to be a physicist, then youll need to do physics, if you want to be an archeologist, youll need to do archaeology.

    However,

IMPORTANT>>> if you want to do physics at university, you will need to do MATHS at A level. <<IMPORTANT

If you dont want to do A Level maths, then you can get by in A level physics, but you wont be able to do it at University.

I know this doesnt answer your question directly, but I hope it helps.
